Container Management
One of the biggest challenges in the shipping industry is keeping up with thousands of IBCs and safe-guarding the contents. Learn how the VeriTrace S1 is the perfect solution for managing these containers.
Challenge #1
A chemical company owns thousands of IBC (Intermediate Bulk Containers) which they use to transport chemicals to customers. They need a cost-effective solution to provide notifications based on movement and location of these containers.
Solution
For this scenario, the VeriTrace S1 is configured to send a message every 3 hours while in transit. Using the built-in vibration sensor and comparative GPS positions, the device determines if it is in motion. When the IBC arrives at the customer location, the VeriTrace S1 determines that it is no longer in motion and sends a message indicating arrival. While at the customer location, the VeriTrace S1 sends a location message once a week.
Challenge #2
A company owns hundreds of portable storage containers that need to be monitored because they contain hazardous and expensive chemicals. The company needs to be notified every time a door is opened and wants to confirm once a week the device is working properly. If the container is stolen, the company needs to be alerted and sent location information.
Solution
For this scenario, the VeriTrace S1 is equipped with a open door sensor and configured in theft recovery mode. When the door to a container is opened, the VeriTrace S1 sends an alert via email and / or SMS text. For security and safety purposes, the VeriTrace S1 is configured to send a diagnostic message weekly to ensure the VeriTrace S1 is working properly. In theft recovery mode, the VeriTrace S1 sends an alert if it moves and continues to send alerts until the container is recovered. |
